Ever have one of those days where things seem to just pile up around you? I've literally got stacks of paper all over the dining table (that is still waiting to be refinished), boxes of items that need to be shipped, a pile of laundry that needs to be folded and an inbox full of over 200 emails...

So guess what I'm doing today? Taking deep breaths. I just made some tea, and I'm attempting to tackle one thing at a time, starting with the pieces that are stressing me out the most so I can get them off my list. Do you have a strategy for those days you feel overwhelmed?

I always try to console myself with little things that make me happy and grateful - like the fact that I now actually have a dining room table to spread out on, some comfy chairs to plant myself in, a gorgeous sunny day to keep me cheery, and some fun plans for this evening to look forward to! And now I'm also determined to get some furry throws for my dining chairs to put a real smile on my face. I don't care how many times I see it done, I'm still not sick of it!

  4. Nothing beats making a check list that you can literally mark off - the other one that works for us is, "I must do __, _____, and _____ or else no watching Ellen today :)

  5. I love what you said about consoling yourself with small things. It's so true. A bunch of flowers, a scented candle or a warm cozy throw. Ahhh!

  6. Ever since we moved to the northwest I've realized how much the weather impacts my moods. If it's one of those overly chore-filled days and it's sunny I'm okay; if it's gray it's harder to perk up. Sometimes just looking at happy photos from the previous summer will lighten my mood.

  10. I always have to make a list when I feel like that, just to keep me focused and on point. I also like to mix easy to accomplish things with bigger endeavors to keep me feeling like I'm checking enough stuff off the list! Good Luck!
