A PALETTE TO PLAY ON

Browsing through the archives of Martha Stewart yesterday, I rediscovered this lake house whose palette instantly claimed my heart...
You wouldn't know it looking at my own home, but this color combination - warm peaches and lake blues - is a combination I always seem to gravitate to. I love how the home owners punched it up in the dining area though...
Same palette - just a bit more intense. It's a great way to carry color throughout a home without it feeling overly matchy in each room. And, just because it was too good to overlook... let's talk about this architecture...
The stone fence around the property (lower left) has this great radial pattern that you also find inside in the fireplace and the ceiling. The light in this home is simply gorgeous, too. You can find the full house tour right here.

  1. I love the top color pallet. Now I see how I can add some blue hues to my rust and gold. Thanks!

  3. I just saw you pin this too! I really love the cozy cheerfulness of these tones. What type of metal finishes would you style with a palette like these? I lean toward burnished brass.
