PILLOW PALETTES

I'm beginning to think that kilim is the new ikat. Or suzani. I've been seeing so many designers and bloggers featuring them lately. And much like ikat or suzani, kilim never really went out of style, but seems to trend more from time to time.

Growing up, I remember my mom putting kilim pillows on the sofa and I couldn't stand them - so scratchy! But these days, I do turn to them for a reason other than decorating... their fabulously inspiring palettes!
Just this week I've been working on some color forecasting, and decided to browse through the pillows at Sukan, hunting for some inspiration. I'd say mission accomplished, wouldn't you? Do you have a favorite? Mine might be the pool blue, navy and peach combo, but I'm also loving these bottom two...

  2. Kilims are great inspiration for color palettes! Just yesterday I was browsing Ebay's goodies. I see you have some posted here that strangely resemble the ones I was eyeballing. The ones with pink are my faves (I'm such a girl)!

  4. Definitely a yes on the geometric patterns-- triangles and pyramids and, oh, let's throw in a repetitive rhombus for good measure. I'm sitting on my orange couch and with these on my computer screen next to it, I'd say yes to all. But colors? I've got inky midnight blue stuck in my head next to golden yellow and persimmon and mint.

  12. These pillow palettes would be a great accent piece in any Home Interior Design. When I redesigned my living room, I used an amazing online service, Simply Decorate. While I do work with them, they honestly are easy to use and offer great design ideas and tools to help you see how your finished room will look. They are really great.

  16. Yes! I love kilim. I've had a few of those rugs for years and they just seem so classic and casual.

I just recently got a kilim pillow too like what you posted.

Next, I'm eyeing up one of those poufs that West Elm is selling...
