IN LIVING COLOR

I so envy people who can invite color into their homes in a way that feels so natural and playful. As I've gone through the process of designing my own space, I've realized that you have to stick with what works for you. As much as I've tried to add a pop of yellow here, or a dash of aqua there, it comes nowhere close to this amazing home!

What I really love is the color mixed with very raw materials, adding this natural and slightly industrial feel to a bubble of color. It's all a bit surreal...

If this doesn't give you a little jolt of happy to start your week, I don't know what will. So many fun little details... but my favorite might be the way those slung leather chairs pop against an aqua floor! What's yours?

  7. I love color but I end up staying with a neutral pallate. I get nervous with bright colors. I feel like I may not like it after a few months. I guess I will stick to having accent pieces with color!

  8. It is so gray in Michigan for about 6 months of the year. I had to have color in the house. Lots of turquoise and orange.

  11. Adding color to your home/space really can be a great thing! Although it can be hard at times when you are so used to a neutral background... Loving all these pictures!

  12. I painted my living room a similar aqua hue and paired it with bright white trim and splashes of red, but I'm loving this yellow! Maybe I'll have to switch out all of the red and go for this look instead!

  18. Hi Cassandra,

I have already read this article in Residence Magazine a couple of weeks ago and thought exactly the same as you. The stylist of this home has really nicely accentuated the room with a big but right dose of color...

  21. My favourite is definitely the aqua floor - particularly the way the cushions on the neutral sofa complement the colouring!

Honestly though, I'd happily paste any of these rooms into my house!
