As proven by Ellen DeGeneres & Portia de Rossi's home in the latest Architectural Digest, the decor need not be modern itself, which makes the idea a little more fun. I placement of these windows with the doorway - leaving some walls pace in tact - creates a more interesting space if you ask me.

I also love the idea of breaking up this huge picture window with a thin band of color across the top like in this home by Alexandra Angle - I imagine it casts a beautiful warm glow on the space when the sun filters in on top of adding an interesting, modern detail.
What do you think?

ReplyDeleteLove that first shot...A high linear window always looks so cool with some lush greenery in the background...paired with a tabletop indoor tree, totally lends new meaning to bringing the outdoors in...fabulous!
