GET THE LOOK :: A MODERN CLASSIC

During the summer when it's too hot to think straight, I often look in my closet and think "I have nothing to wear, really nothing!" Cristina here from Fuji Files, and I have a fail-proof outfit formula for those nothing to wear moments, and unlike many of my Get the Look posts, this one's not a trend! Instead, we're presenting a modern classic that has definitely stood the test of time: the white collared shirt and a full skirt.
If you're shopping for a shirt with a relaxed fit like these ladies, I'd recommend checking the men's section. Blogger Karla Deras (above) is pictured wearing a men's shirt from J.Crew, and she couldn't look more feminine.

I couldn't possibly talk about this look without referencing Carolina Herrera, who professes to having worn collared white blouses her entire life. You can rest assured that a white blouse is a sound style investment.
Tucking a loose-fitting blouse into a full skirt will create the illusion of an hourglass figure - a silhouette that will flatter any body type. This is a perfect look for work when worn with pumps, but I love Ashley Olsen's modern take, styled with flat sandals for summer!

  1. I LOVE that idea! I have an oversized mens shirt from Ralph Lauren I sleep in, but buying one for everyday wear would create a fun carefree look.

  2. I could not agree more. This is by far one of the best looks that someone can pull off.

You have read my mind today. I was just thinking about how I am bored with my summer clothes. This is a great solution. How can you go wrong with a white collared shirt, it even looks uber sexy with jean cut-offs.

Swoon... I cannot wait until I am no longer pregnant and can pull off this look. Instead, I have to suffer through August being 9+months pregnant and will have to shelf this look until next year!
