Wendy - who recently introduced her own line under Cuff Home - first worked with Tracy of Black Crow Studios when she and partner Kristi Bender began planning a hallway for a showhouse in LA last December. The two loved Tracy's style and enjoyed working with her so much, they decided to collaborate on a small line of wallpaper together.
This one (Chevron) is my absolute favorite - to me the black and white version looks like modern marble tile and the pastel combo is simply perfection. Wendy said she was influenced by the color trends in fashion for this line and it shows!
I also love the softness in this Inkblot design. Still such a bold pattern but done in a way that's a little easier on the eyes than the strong geometrics.
Both of these Crackle papers (the left has a Geometric pattern) provide a texture that's reminiscent of shagreen, which is pretty darn delicious. Wendy said she was inspired by pieces of crackle leather and the irregular cracks and grains in stones. This line is the most diverse with its range of color options and a pattern that lends itself well to many styles.
As Tracy noted to me - the papers are designed in large scale and are meant to be played with - you don't necessarily have to line up the pattern perfectly, but have fun with it artistically - especially with these!

In designing the debut line, Kristi says "We wanted it to be artful, interesting. Something that stands alone or can be layered. We're so happy with how it all turned out!"
I have to say I agree! It's a beautiful, fun collection - artful and interesting for sure! After today's sale, you'll be able to purchase the wallpaper soon on the Black Crow Studios site, and you can also view the full Cuff Home line right here.

ReplyDeleteThese are amazing, actually the black & white chevron/geometric pattern one reminds me of what the walls in supervillain's lairs look like in cartoons!
ReplyDeleteSo I'm imagining it with a big dramatic fireplace & a large mahogany desk ;)
