Just before the holidays I noticed that they were hiring for a merchandiser... specifically for their home department. Um... hello? Moving things around to make them look pretty? I do that all day! Now I get paid to do it and the boy doesn't have to put up with my constant rearranging at home since I get it out of my system at work. There's a lot more to it than that, but I won't make you insanely jealous with all the details. Let's just say it's very, very awesome.
So, forgive me as I go through a little state of transition adding a daily merchandising schedule to my blog and interior+event design schedule. Life is hectic, but so worth it. And, since I'll be needing a little assistance, all of you who emailed me back in November about the internship positions will be hearing from me very soon, now that I know what my days are settling into.
I hope you all have a fantastic weekend...!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new job! I have a question for you: Where do they find the mixed media decorations/art for the store? I love to see all the interesting designs in all the stores, like this month it is a fabulous peacock made from the pages of a book. I was wondering if they have their own team or do they visit local art schools?

ReplyDeleteI am a prop stylist, work mostly on food shows and cookbooks...I love what I do..the other day I was outside at our bbq pit in the snow lighting a bonfire.. to appear in the background of a hot toddy shot for a cookbook _ I stopped for a second just to appreciate that this was actually a "work day" and I was one lucky girl! I am sure you will be pinching yourself often too. Best wishes on your new adventure!

ReplyDeleteThat is so awesome. Congratulations. I guess, I'm a little late hearing the news. I always wanted to have that job. I worked for Anthropologie as a sales associate about a 3 years ago, because I wanted to see what it was like and see if I could get my foot in the door for a merchandising job. But the drive was quite a distance for me so I only stayed about 2 months at the job. I really loved it thought. It's a great atomosphere. Which one do you work at, Seattle, University, or Bellevue? Anyway, congratulations!
