GET THE LOOK :: THE SILK SCARF

Now that temperatures and humidity (my worst enemy) are rising I find that my hair is in a default top knot more often than not. Cristina from Fuji Files here with my solution for summer's bad hair days: the silk scarf!

There are a multitude of ways to tie a silk scarf so I can tell I'm going to have a lot of fun playing with this look in front of the mirror (and quite possibly my imaginary convertible!). Tie a scarf loosely under the chin to add elegance to any ensemble, and wrap the ends around the neck for a touch of Grace Kelly glamour.  Or if you're looking for a chic way to keep your hair out of your face, tie the scarf at the nape of your neck and secure it with bobby pins (I like gold ones).

I'll bet anything you'll be inspired to reach for A-line skirts and ladylike shirt dresses with your scarf. Complete the look with a pair of cat eye sunnies, and no one will ever guess you've had a bad hair day in your life!

When I wear a hat I feel like it screams "look at me, I'm wearing a hat!" so a silk scarf is the perfect head accessory for me, totally effortless! What do you think?

  1. I feel like this is a really tricky look to pull off. Done correctly, you can look adorable and graceful. Done incorrectly, you look like a hot mess.

  2. I think it all boils down to confidence and swagger.
When I wera a hat it's something that I don't wear everyday so I have to display confidence.

  6. Oh I wear it at home, especially when cooking, but have never felt confident to wear it outside, I want to though :). I want to wear hats too, when I was 16 I fell n love with those hats that ship captains use,, can't think of the name, a white one, and I wore it without any trouble, felt fabulous. Then one day I just stopped and haven't been able to wear a hat comfortably since... No idea why. State of mind?
