When I'm not donning an easy sundress in the summer, my go-to is most likely shorts and and a t-shirt. Which is cute, and all, but lacks a little oomph. Which is why I'm kinda sorta maaaaaaaybe considering the leather shorts this year. Because I can still keep it pretty easy with a perfect white tee, but throw on some pumps and rock it all day (and night).
And, if we're taking things to the next level...
Then you roll the sleeves, layer on a leather studded belt, up the hemline, and pray you've been working out hard enough to pull this off. I think this look is super badass. And highly unlikely unless my legs grow about five more inches. What do you think? Are the leather shorts already old news? Or should I start hunting?

If you've got great legs, rock it. Otherwise, forget it.
ReplyDeleteRock it !
ReplyDeleteHell yeah! Love!
ReplyDeleteps - I really loved your post yesterday! So candid and heartfelt. It was my fav of the series.

love the leather shorts!!!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't pull them off but props to those who can! Super chic and sexy and I love leather shorts with tights in the fall too, so they work all year round!
ReplyDeleteI like it and I really like how Miranda Kerr styled her shorts. The untucked tee, swept-back hair and fuchsia pumps soften the look. So go for it! I definitely could not swing look two unless you put me on a taffy puller.
ReplyDeleteI really loved the "Things I'm Afraid to Tell You..." post. It was refreshing. (I tried to comment yesterday but my comment started metastasizing so I deleted. : )
I think you could probably pull off the leather shorts look... but wouldn't they be a little sweaty? Haha. I guess some of these are pretty loose fitting so they'd breathe a little...
ReplyDeleteDO IT! I bought a pair of Phillip Lim leather shorts about three years ago and love them just as much today as I did the first time I saw them. They are GREAT for evening with heels and a fun top but just as wearable for daytime with fab sandals and a tee. You won't regret it!
ReplyDeleteEsos short me encantan!
ReplyDeleteUn beso, Maquillando sueƱos
love both pictures! Still looking for that perfect leather short!

They'll be no good on my hobbit legs, but I LOVE this look. You can totally pull it off.
ReplyDeleteI have a pair of high waisted, baggy semi long leather shorts and I wear them ALL SUMMER LONG. Even in NYC. Daytimes with flats and a tank in nyc, and nighttime too, heels and blazer. Summer leather can totally work as long as its not too tight!
ReplyDeleteLeather shorts? Living the dream!!! I need to do several more lunges first though.. For real.
ReplyDeleteGet your leather shorts on and rock them!
I love the leather shorts! Especially Miranda's look. She always looks so effortlessly chic and put together.
ReplyDeletecheers, Elizabeth
Miranda Kerr is my style icon! She looks amazing and has somehow managed to make leather and heels look casual with that simple white tee.
ReplyDeleteGreat feature!

I say rock it... although I can barely be bothered to get dressed at all in the Texas summer heat! LOL.
ReplyDeleteDo it!! I love this look and could potentially rock it as well since I'm just south in Portland. Talk about serious squats and lunges motivation! ;)

I actually love that look.
ReplyDeleteThe white tee ad the splash-of-colour heels make it very chic without looking like you're trying to hard to pull off leather shorts-lol
ROCK it, big time.
That so funny, I've been searching far and wide for the perfect (faux) leather shorts for summer. I think its such a clean look with just the right amount of edge.

I am the first commenter and I misunderstood: I am referring to anyone who has great legs (which I don't) and not to you specifically. So sorry - I got it wrong.
ReplyDeleteROCK IT!
ReplyDeleteHOLLA! Leather shorts are awesome. I wear the fringed variety because the longer tassels help cover a few of my problem areas high on the thigh.
ReplyDeleteFlaunt it loud and hard.
It looks nice, but I'd say leave it. Simply because I live in Florida and it is SUPER hot!

LUV the leather shorts...although, think I'd probably do a pastel color with my white legs!!! You "go for it girl!!" franki
ReplyDeleteWowww. KILLER second look! I'd totally rock it.
ReplyDeleteI think you should go for it. Just look how hot that first pic is! And not in a vulgar way. I would love to try it!
ReplyDeleteThis is truly one of those cases where we can help stop suffering and help protect the planet simply by being informed consumers and making smart choices about what we buy and wear. For more information, see:

I just had Harputs Own of San Francisco make a pair of leather trouser shorts for me to wear for graduation. This photo was my source of inspiration for my outfit. Photos will follow next week on my blog. MUNIAKBLOG.COM
ReplyDeleteSo yes! go for it and find a pair for yourself!
Leather shorts won't be helping my legs anytime soon. "Hate" the gorgeous girl in photo 2...and if you really want the literal definition of bad ass...take at look at mine. Sigh!
