Last summer I purchased a full-length white skirt on whim. Being short (at 5'2") and somewhat curvy, I'm not always good at pulling this look off. The skirt has some fullness to it, though, and accentuates the waist quite nicely. But my favorite part about it is that I don't use it to dress up... I pair it with a basic tee. Just like this.
The difference is, since my skirt is white, the top gets to be more colorful and playful which draws the eye up (instead of the focus being my short legs, it's my longer torso!). I can't wait for the sun to emerge a bit around here so I can start wearing it again! This is by far one of my favorite looks for summer soirees!

it always looks great when you have a stunning skirt like that one!
ReplyDeleteI have been absolutely lusting for the full-length flyn from Anne Cramer (might be the skirt pictured in the top photo). I think pairing it with a t-shirt - and being able to dress it down - is one more reason it's a perfect purchase.
ReplyDeleteLove the bubble peplum! Such a fun take on spring's top trend! Can't wait to see you rock the *ish outta this look!

I love a long skirt, at 6ft they are hard to find to fit my length correctly and not look like a Golden girl either. LOL
ReplyDeleteI do love pairing a perfect tee with a skirt. Its that easy spring feeling.
LOVE IT.

I'm a shorty too, but I absolutely love wearing a maxi skirt with a t. Plus a chunky necklace or bracelet, of course. Here's to attempting to have long legs!
ReplyDeleteI've been rocking long skirts for years love them!
ReplyDeleteI love a long skirt, being a shorty I always go with the high waisted style so give my legs some extra length. would love to wear one of Ulyana Sergeenko skirts with a t-shirt.
ReplyDeleteVery cool - as long as you're not wearing your hair like the girls in the photos! They all look like they just got out of bed...
ReplyDeleteI love that look!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the link-back too,

I'm 5' and just bought two maxi skirts for the summer. I plan to pair them with coloured ts and VERY high heels :) oh, and incredible statement jewelry. I love this look and us, short girls, can rock it also! I love the way maxi skirts make me feel taller.
ReplyDeleteAwesome post.
