Hello dear readers - Crissie, from Chicasaurus-Rex here! Guess what? It's Fashion Week again... This year I am juggling a new job, a new blog and a few shows to cover... (I'm pretty excited about it, actually!) But I'm also loading up on vitamin packed fruits and veggies so I can stay happy and healthy all week long.
The easiest way to do that? Green smoothies! I like making mine with: a. Orange Juice, b. Bananas, c. Kale, d. Pears, a squirt of honey and a little almond milk (my sister swaps out the pears for blueberries and yogurt for milk - also delish!) Being your resident Foodie Fashionista, no food is complete without an outfit to accompany it, so I bring you the Fashion Week Survival Outfit (inspired by the Fashion Week Survival Smoothie):
Do you have a favorite green smoothie?
xo, Crissie

I make the same smoother and sub the pear for strawberries and add greek yogurt :) Kale is so healthy for you and to me, the strawberries mask the taste. Love the Asos skirt--too cute!!
ReplyDeleteI start off with kale and oj too, then I throw in mango, strawberries and peaches with honey, and sometimes a dollop of greek yogurt. Also, I'm totally snagging that iPhone case in green.
ReplyDeleteLovely ensemble, your blog is great. noe @ www.hotcelebration.com
ReplyDeleteis kale the must eat food b/c I'm seeing it everywhere and yet to try it.
ReplyDeleteI would really like to get a new blender or my juicer out of storage. That sounds so good and healthy!
ReplyDeleteIf you need someone to carry your...anything I would be happy to assist during Fashion Week. (It's on my list of things to do in my life!)
this is fantastic - i love the colors in that outfit. my favorite smoothie is yogurt, oj, bananas, strawberries, blueberries. I add peanut butter sometimes and honey:)
ReplyDeleteIt's not green, but I make a banana smoothie with ice, a banana, a scoop of orange juice concentrate and a little bit of vanilla coffee creamer. It is delightful and fairly healthy!
ReplyDeleteOooh! That sounds delish. Pear makes a lot of green juices taste better! I usually add a bit of superfood to mine! That mint skirt...I just die...
ReplyDeleteGreen Smoothies are the best. Try my recipe: Spinach, Green Apple, Avocado, Lime juice and coconut oil. I add flax oil and Soy Lecithin to real kick it up a notch on the nutritional value when I need a boost!

Sounds wonderful. I have a smoothie every morning made from yogurt, apple, banana, and anything else I have to throw in. Great way to get a lot of fruit and vegetable into the diet, and they are so delicious!
ReplyDeleteI will try your version.

I gotta get myself a vita mix before I go green. My stinkin blender needs to find the closest trash can! Cutie blog!!
ReplyDeleteI have a green smoothie every morning and in the mix goes a banana, 1/2 c. raw oatmeal, tons of spinach, a frozen tropical fruit mix and then just enough water to make my blender happy. I feel like it's the best way to start the day!
ReplyDeleteI do now... this looks delicious!

ReplyDeleteLove the color combo! Especially the blouse and flats. My fav green smoothie is pretty similar - lots of kale, OJ, frozen blueberries and strawberries, a splash of coconut water, and a spoonful of hemp protein powder :)
ReplyDeleteHow much of everything do you need to prepair this smoothie.
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with the combination of the leopard print & emerald green. What an incredibly chic outfit!
