Hello m'dears, Cristina here! We're well into January and the excitement of the holiday season has passed -- so I can officially say that I am over winter! These days you might find me staring longingly into my closet at summer dresses... so let's see how to take a summer look and make it winter appropriate!
Flowing, airy maxi skirts were a summer staple last season, and perfectly dressed up a basic white tee. For winter take that same skirt and pair it with knits and boots! If we're going to invest in a piece of clothing, then it better be multi-functional, am I right?
Keep your pins warm with some fleece lined tights, then embrace the winter weather by accessorizing with ear muffs and gloves (fingerless of course, so as not to cover up your manicure!).
And if you fell for the glittery gold everything over the holidays, add some of that to the look too! No use letting that gold clutch gather dust until next New Year's. Last but not least, my favorite way to add an edge to any ensemble - biker boots!
Which pieces in your wardrobe do you wear through summer and winter?

I quite like this look. I've been looking at my skirts and passing them over, but maybe I'll make the effort this week!

I especially love pic #3- the v neck and her hair done up in a bun! I'm a lean 5'5 and skeptical that I can pull off such a long skirt though. Do you think the maxi look is only for the tall?
ReplyDeleteI love this post! I love all of my maxi skirts but always put them away until summer- great styling!
ReplyDeleteSuch a fab post!!! I'm all about the maxi skirts!

The link for the gloves is wrong
ReplyDeleteWhere can i buy those?
Hi V - The link is fixed now and the gloves are from Modcloth! You can find them here
ReplyDeletelove this! definitely in need a of a long flowy maxi skirt.
ReplyDeletelove the maxi skirt especially in neutral colors because it is so versatile from season to season! Being from Chicago I have used the fleece lined tights under the maxi this winter (it definitely does the trick and no one can see!)
ReplyDeleteI did a similar post called Bohemian Winter a week or so ago, matching furs with maxis, and I LOVE your boots suggestion! Love your blog!

this totally inspired me, like seriousily. I have a bright blue maxi skirt I got for summer time, and now I'm thinking of throwing on a black tutorial neck, some tights, and platforms, and maybe a leather jacket. Perfect.
ReplyDeleteI just bought a HOT pink maxi skirt today and I've already planned about a dozen ways to wear it as soon as the weather gets warm... Not sure I can translate it to winter like the neutral skirt, but that's not going to stop me from trying!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post!
