The amount of focus and non-stop work that goes into producing every issue of Rue never fails to amaze me. Or wipe me out. There's an unspoken understanding between those of us who have fallen into (or pursued) the opportunity to help build these online mags - it's exhausting but rewarding when you hit that final upload button...
So, excuse me while we put the finishing touches on and then go pass out for a bit. And, don't worry, I'll have some gorgeous outtakes to share with you when I awake in a bit!

ReplyDeleteI'm starting to understand the world of online magazines. I love Rue and have been inspired to start an online magazine myself but am just curious what program you create your magazine in before you upload it, to issuu I'm assuming. And also, have you been able to monetize it yet?
ReplyDeleteSincerely,

I can't wait to read it with a glass of wine tonight :)
ReplyDeleteI honestly don't know how you do it. Between the graphic design and all that entails with color, size, added do dadds like boxes, stars or whatever, not to mention the imagery, positioning, sources, and text! And that's just for starters I'm sure. Sleep in!
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with Susan , I also have to wonder how you do it too, combining imagery and colours so well but I am glad you do, ooh!
ReplyDeletei'm just now finally reading all your sweet comments and just wanted to give a HUGE thank you to everyone. your support means so much. it takes many hours and details and time to put it all together, and much of the credit goes to anne, crystal and bri for putting their hard work into every issue too.
ReplyDeleteInspired Novice - you upload a PDF to issuu, so we create everything in photoshop and indesign.
