WHEN IN DOUBT...

Ok, kids, here's the deal. I cannot for the life of me decide on a sofa for my apartment. For a long time now, I've been dreaming of this one because I love the petite shape and how feminine it is, and it's actually quite comfortable. But then I saw this one...

And it was love at first peek! My default setting for moments of panic and confusion when it comes to my interiors (and my closet for that matter) is to go with black and white. And while it is, admittedly, a very safe choice, it's also very classic.

I adore the black trim detail and how cozy the piece looks. And, there will still be plenty of color in my own space to keep things soft and playful. While I'd be looking at doing it in a bit more modern shape, I'd keep the skirt and all. Still feminine and traditional, but a very different look from my original inclination... so what do you think? Do I go for it?

  13. Like the others, I say you go for it. But I'm a huge waffler! I'd love to know if you have future "waffles" (design indecision). I post them on my site and readers vote for their favorite.

  14. That couch is gorgeous and classic, but all I can think when I see white furniture is how dirty it will get?

Perhaps that's because our dog counts down the minutes until we leave for work so she can toss herself around on ours...

  15. Quite honestly, I'm not seeing a lot I'm not in love with in that room. But that couch, glam and comfy? Yes, please.

Hi, Loving how classic and elegant the piece is. Makes me want to curl up with some popcorn and watch Casablanca. Would love to see the link to the other couch to find out if it can beat it (but I doubt it).

  18. I think the black&white sofa will make you free to decorate your space in so many ways. Seems versatile, but not boring. Very interesting piece of furniture. A classic, yet you won't find many copies in other homes.

  21. I think it is gorgeous (love that it mimics the black frames above). The skirt is my favorite part. And with little emerald green silk pillows? Mmm! I say go for it!

  23. The link doesn't work for me, but I do love the sofa pictured. Plus both rugs and the pom-pom throw.

Both are beautiful. Give yourself a week or two to mull over the choices. If the excitement of the new sofa wares off, then the original is probably the one for you!

It's pretty awesome, not gonna lie. I say yes!

  28. I'd be overly paranoid the kids would spill something they weren't supposed to have on the sofa in the first place, but it is classic and looks cozy. Go.For.It!

  29. Those are both such great pieces! The one you linked to doesn't look quite as cozy, but I love the shape. You have a tough choice, but they are both so classic! Keep us posted!

  34. Black and white all the way!!!

I love both-they are very different. I think I would opt for the Crate and Barrell in a white and add some chic black and white pillows-you will get the best of both worlds.

  36. The black and white sofa is so chic! If you nanotex the fabric it will never stain and will always look fantastic.

Ethan Allen has a very similar one to the black and white sofa. I saw in person while sofa shopping and it is amazing! Go for it!

  38. Love the sofa {just keep the little ones and furry friends away unless you elect to have it upholstered with removable/washable slipcovers!} It is absolutely classic and it definitely allows for easy redecorating as white + black never goes out of style- just change out your accessories!

  39. There are moments when I see things and I think "that is so Coco+Kelley" and had I spied that black and white sofa on Pinterest, it would have been one of those moments. Its sophisticated yet relatable. Absolutely love the CB sofa but its a little too understated. For what a stranger's opinion is worth :)

  45. FYI the CB couch is no longer on their site and is going to only be a special order from now on (from Lee & way more $$) but it's still on display at the UV store and you can get the floor sample at a discount. At least it was available a few days ago when I was there...

  46. Ha! This post reminded me of myself when I bought my first house, thisone I leave in ;-)
I had the same doubt... I was dreaming with a petit sofa :-) but ended up going for a big one...
Though I like it and it is very confortable and it can turn into a bed for visits, I dream with the day I can have also a petit one :-)
