I'm guessing the smaller rug will be one of three options - sheepskin, cowhide or a small Moroccan rug. And the larger could really be anything. I love this combo where a large scale pattern plays well off of the traditional Moroccan piece.
For a bit more visual texture, the combination of sisal and cowhide is kind of fun! I'm not sure how soft either would be on the feet, but it sure does look good. Maybe best kept to warmer climates?
And the option I'm leaning towards the most at the moment - white on white. A cozy white rug with white sheepskin atop. Of course, any combination of these would work... Pattern + sheepskin? Sisal + Moroccan?

I really love this look! It is something I don't normally think of, but looks sophisticated and is extra comfy...especially to have a 2nd rug on sisal!

ReplyDeleteI used to have a sheepskin rug in my room (while a legit Persian rug would be ideal, post-college budget prevails!) because I wanted to add texture, plus it's so cozy! BUT, majorly bummed at how quickly it became dirty and matted (even though I'd regularly clean it/shake it out), so it's been relegated to the closet for shame of anyone seeing the matted mess. I wound up buying a cowhide and am much happier! I was surprised to find it's actually soft on bare feet and it makes my tiny SF bedroom look much bigger, super groovy! (I think its free form shape means doesn't allow you to immediately asses the scale of the room). Hope this is of help. Looking forward to seeing pictures of your progress!
