BOLD + BLUE

On the heels of this morning's color palette post, I found these stunning blue built-ins that resonated with me for similar reasons...

Sharp, saturated, bold color coming right at you! Could you live with this? I think it works in a large, dramatic space, and I like the way they've incorporated the blue in the floors and upholstery, but I don't know if I could handle it myself. Still... it makes a stunning impact. If you had built ins (or maybe you do!) what color would you paint them? I'm thinking I'd keep them white on the inside, but outline them in a deep kelly green...

  3. I have a dresser I've been meaning to paint and I love this color. My space is not huge but neither is the dresser. I'm going to go bold and see what happens!

  4. I love this color, but it would be too much for me on an everyday basis. Maybe if just the backs were blue, and the rest of it was white?

I love how it looks, it sure makes a focal point, but to be honest I would get tired of the color by 2 weeks; but I still love the look of it.

  6. I love the blue hue here and it looks fabulous. I don't think I would ever think to use blue, but it turned out wonderful here! I am a sucker for bookshelves of any kind. Love!

  7. I think incorporating that blue into the seat cushions was a stroke of genius. Love the way the rustic old elements play off it too.

  10. I liked the blue bookcase very much. Absolutely stunning contrast between the blue and the golden accents coming from the glass frame, wood and upholstery fabrics – although I can see how it would look beautiful in a sharp white too. Thanks for another great post. We love your blog!! No wonder we had to list you among our 5 favorites ;)

  16. I gasped when I saw this picture. They are beautiful. The built-ins in my living room are the first thing we installed when we moved in. Ours are white with gray inside. I tend to keep my interiors pretty neutral (lots of grays, navy, and brown), because the kids and dogs bring their own chaos with them, and that includes lots of colorful toys... chaotic, even when they're stored away!

    I love this though.
