This timely trend could be a nod to the World Series, but let's be honest it probably has more to do with combating bad hair days! The baseball cap is a casual accessory that says "I'm a laid back fashionista who doesn't try too hard," and our challenge is to avoid looking like we didn't try at all.
The best options are plain hats (without branding) in neutral colors like black, grey or navy. My top tip is to check the men's section when shopping, they'll have the most selection.
These lovely ladies all wore their hats with layered outerwear in dark tones like blacks and blues, so I chose a sharp navy trench coat. Because a baseball cap is a boyish piece by nature, I paired it with a dress and accessories that have a bit of sparkle. This casual look is easiest when worn with simple jewelry and a pair of flats, making it the perfect option for days when you're on the go!
This is an inexpensive trend that will add a new casual element to your smart winter coats, and I have a feeling I'll be reaching for this piece a lot this fall!

I love the look you put together...so chic and comforable! Yes, and I'm guilty of loving the baseball cap on bad hair days!
ReplyDeleteCute looks, good tips and LOVE that trench!!
ReplyDeleteI love baseball caps, unfortunately I don't think I can full them off, even on bad hair days, ha ha! Maybe something to do with the long flowing tresses they all have. Great look though.
ReplyDeleteCaps are perfect for a bad hair day. I'm a guy and when I'm in between hair but I love that I can just put one on and be stylish!
ReplyDeleteI love this look! It looks well thought out, but still super casual. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great tip!!
