Hardware. It's totally what sold me on it. The pop of brightly polished brass off that soft grey gets me every time! Oh, and yes the rest of the kitchen is divine as well - let's talk about it, shall we?
First off - the dark grout with the white subway tile. I'm not always a fan, but in this case I really love it. It keeps the room from being too glaringly white and adds graphic interest - but does it need to be all the way up every wall? Hmmm. The natural lighting is also heavenly - skylights in the kitchen are one of my favorite things! And how smart to mount the overhead lighting in there too. (Speaking over overhead lighting - that fixture about the dining table is freaking me out. No thank you.) The hood is perfection, the marble-topped island delicious, and the smattering of houseplants quite refreshing. I even spy a peek of a bar cart, which is always on my must-have list! All in all... I'd happily move right in!
What do you think? Favorites? Not so favorites?

I really love the dark grout and subway tile mixed with the pine (?) plank floors. The range hood!!! Beautiful. Love the green/grey (greeey?) cabinets.
ReplyDeleteI don't have any plants in my kitchen. I think that needs to change this weekend.

ReplyDeletei LOVE white subway tile in the kitchen. The dark grout actually gives it a great vibe instead of the usual washed out white. I'm a fan!

The dark grout definitely breaks what could be a white monotony BUT I do think I still prefer white to dark :( Nicolex
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you on the hardware- a detail that many look over that is a room changer. I love the grey and white combo but it needs a little punch of something. Also dislike that lighting fixture.

I'm not usually a fan of subway tiling but in this case, I agree with you - it is DIVINE! The subtle colors emerge from the room and make everything fit together perfectly.

ReplyDeleteI agree with you about that light fixture above the dining table. Doesn't seem to go with the airiness of the rest of the design. I really love the cabinetry and hardware in the kitchen. The tile doesn't bother me because it's broken up quite a bit. I would be happy to have this room in my house...first I need a house :-)
ReplyDeleteCRAZY about the hardware, not sold on the subway tile wall on the right. Great pick though!
ReplyDeleteLove it! So elegant!
ReplyDeleteLove it! I like the subtly of the greige cabinets against the white subway tile with dark grout and light pine floors. It is so peaceful and serene.
ReplyDeleteholy natural light batman! love the colors & the re-emergence of brushed brass. so warm and inviting.
ReplyDeleteThe kitchen is fantastic! I love the hardware with grey too.
ReplyDeleteI love the bright white and openness of the kitchen!! Love it!

The flooring is what I adore. I think the attempt at being light-washed can lack creativity so people just throw in all the pastels and white they can find. Here, the open spaces and fabluloso paneled flooring (what kind of wood is that?) make it a really fun kitchen. The only thing I don't love is the modern furniture. While this may call for a more minimalist approach, there are other options I think that are a little more inviting.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! I'm in love!!

Adore everything about it.
ReplyDeleteWhat I like about the room is that it has an almost garden room or sun room feel because of the light coming in.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful kitchen. I'm with you on the hardware-love it!
ReplyDeleteNice to see what the dark grout would actually look like. Great kitchen and I agree on the hardware...terrific look.
ReplyDeleteI love the overall look and feel of this kitchen! I have been trying to convince my mom to go with subway tile for her kitchen remodel, maybe this photo will sway her in the right direction!
