A LITTLE PREP IN MY STEP

The past few weeks I've been pulling together examples of 'preppy' interiors for a little project, and in doing some serious searching was reminded of this over the top home designed by Jason Oliver Nixon and John Loecke, featured in the belated Domino...

They describe the style as "British country manor souped up with splashes of color."

And indeed it feels very British Colonial meets Florida, with a hit of feminine charm.

It's definitely not for the faint of heart, but I love how happy it feels! What do you think? And, while we're at it, would you say this falls under the category of preppy? How do you define a 'preppy' style interior??

  11. Wow, I definitely feel very happy just looking at the photos, I can only imagine it is a fab little place to call home!
And I would LOVE to paint bold stripes on the floor of one of our rooms! I already know the husband will veto and give me that "you want to do what?" look, but it would totally be a dream come true.

  16. Such personality! I love all of the bright colours and the patterns, oh the patterns!

When I think preppy, generally I think of something with a bit of a nautical flair... navy, wide stripes, burlap, twine. :)

  27. I like the stripe design of the stairs and the white background with all the very nice portraits. Passing by these stair would be a cool experience. It must be very comfy to your feet too because the carpet seem to be soft as i can see in the picture.

The room ceiling is also fantastic. And the chandelier looks like a beautiful set of tea cups flipped around. Very nice.
