There's something so sweet in these petite versions of the traditional wingback chairs. And, I love that you can easily pull them into the living room for extra seating too.

Here are a few options I've hunted down so far. A gorgeous piece from Aiden Gray at Layla Grayce comes in at $840 (a little on the high end!). On the opposite spectrum, a seriously affordable style at (gasp!) Sears for only $230. Not a huge fan of the legs on this one, but nothing a little 'customization' can't fix! Just below, a modern wingback at SOM is surely unique, but way above budget at $2,650 for a pair. And finally we have some pretty little lines at this chair from Hooker - on sale at $650 each. (Do we have a winner?)
Which would you go with??

OMG love the look!!! My fav are the one from Layla Grace and Hooker!!! Sounds like a fun project! Hope you are having a great week!!
ReplyDeletei love the color of the som chair. but they all look great.
ReplyDeleteOh I LOVE this look- my favourties are #1 ns #4.
ReplyDeleteI need a few of these myself for my salvaged Restoration Hardware look alike. I love the nail head trim, and the curve lines of the Hooker chair. Although, I'm a sucker for tufted anything. If only you could merge these pieces together.
ReplyDeleteI really like the Sears chair... I even like the legs. The color of the fabric and legs is not on though! The price is good l, so doing a DIY slipcover and leg paint job would be a snap. I'd do Suzanne Kasler's Blanc linen at Ballard and this gorgeous pale Gray paint I just saw on the Undecorate Tumblr called Tuderic Pewter by Ralph Lauren. You could add nailhead trim yourself. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the SOM chair, but obviously its pricey! I think the Sears chair is great, you would just have to paint the legs. I actually like the shape of the leg, but you know the tone of the wood wouldn't be that great in person!
ReplyDeleteso gorgeous! I need those for my dining room!

Agree with asishome- paint the "mystery wood" legs for sure and I love the color she has suggested.
ReplyDeleteLove wingback chairs..they are great for adding elegance to a dining room..have a lovely day cassandra..do visit my blog when you have a moment..xx meenal
ReplyDeletei'm a sucker for a good deal, go with the hooker ones!
ReplyDeleteloving all your feedback! i'm leaning towards the hooker ones just to avoid any DIY disaster moments, but i'm really interested to see the sears ones in person. i think painted they would look fab and the traditional shape of the front legs wouldn't bother me quite so much...
ReplyDeleteAll these chairs has their stron features, but my fav is #1 & #3.
ReplyDeleteI have been a fan of your bog for the past few months , but this is the first time I am commenting.
No picture source? Boo, I scanned it from a mag :(. I do love it though, the chairs are fab!
ReplyDeleteLove the wing backed chairs you have suggested especially the blue one from Hooker!
ReplyDeleteLove the pic! Definitely going to bookmark this one! Do you know what sort of finish is on that table?? I have 2 tufted chairs that need reupholstery and think I am going to go w the the "Restoration Hardware" look- do you have fabrics you can recommend for that on your blog?? Thanks! Love your blog!
ReplyDeleteThe Aiden Gray one has gorgeous lines but definitely pricey! I would totally reupholster in a funky vibrant print (Pollack's current spring line is NUTS!) for a beautiful wave of color in an otherwise very neutral space...You've got some great choices though, so it's a toughie! Good luck with that!
ReplyDeleteBtw, Haute Khuuture just celebrated the 1-year mark and I'm celebrating with a HUGE giveway! Would love to see you stop by when you get a chance!
Happy Tuesday hun!

I like the chair from Sears but agree with you on the legs!! I also like the chair from Hooker but I wonder if the wings would hinder conversation to the side??

I had to check this out because I am researching end chairs for a current project and the price was really great... but
ReplyDeleteI hate to be the bearer of bad news...
but the price is per chair, not for a pair... and they are crated two to an order... so you have to buy two...
ohhh - countrypolitan, you're RIGHT. i was wondering how that price was possible!! updating the post now... and thank you for catching that. confusing of them to put the price for one but make you buy two :(
ReplyDeleteWisteria has some lovelies too for reasonable amount just to confuse you more :)
ReplyDeleteI actually like the Sears one the best!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE wingback chairs. My dream is to own one in each room of my home. And for that dream, I think I'd have to go Sears, all the way!
ReplyDeleteI, too, luv this look and found mine (with nailheads) for a song at Pier 1...who knew?!?!? franki
ReplyDeleteI know you've probably already found your chairs but I just stumbled upon this post because I am also looking for wingback dining chairs. I found mine at Mitchell Gold Bob Williams. Their Silvia chairs cost starting at $600 for armless, $900 for with arms, many different fabric options. They're having 20% in July.
