THE COUNTDOWN TO SUNSHINE

I'm sure you're all tired of hearing me whine about the poor Seattle weather we've had this spring (although many of you I think are sympathizing) so I'm happy to report that this weekend I will be heading to Austin where you will not be hearing a peep out of me when it comes to weather complaints!

I'm so happy to be getting a little 80+ temps that I'm already dreaming of what to pack for days spent shopping and dining (can we say texas bbq!?)...

And of course there will be much time spent lounging by the pool! Oh, sure, there may have to be a little work squeezed in there, but I don't think I'll mind as much with the sun shining.

  19. We are having some great weather here in Austin! May I suggest brunch at Blue Dahlia Bistro on 11th or Taverna on 2nd Street. Both have patio seating and charming atmosphere. Have a good one!

  27. It's a little bit of a drive but if you're lookin' for good BBQ, you HAVE to go to the Saltlick in Driftwood. the food is amazing and the setting is so very Texas Hill Country.

And, instead of hanging by the pool, I'd suggest going to Barton Springs. It's kind of where we Austinites live in the summer.

    Have fun!

  28. I'm a native Austinite and have been here my whole life. I live near downtown and assume you are staying at Hotel San Jose. If not, stop in for drinks. Other essentials: drinks/dinner at Second Kitchen+Bar, yes barbecue at SaltLick or high end at Lambert's. You have to visit Uncommon Objects,(think vintage objects treasure chest) margaritas at Guero's Taco Bar (and live music next door to follow). Enjoy our city! Tina
