TO MARKET, TO MARKET...

In Seattle, much of our city gets tucked away for the winter, so one of my favorite parts about the change of seasons is the return of my beloved farmer's markets! While many shoppers tend to throw on a pair of worn-in jeans and a light sweater, I can't resist a little maxi dress to step things up a bit...

Let's be honest, a maxi is almost as good as sweats. It's a quick throw on, totally comfy, and you look like you actually put some thought into your ensemble. Top it with a few fun accessories and a casual cardi to ward of cooler temps, and you're set for the market... and whatever the rest of the day may bring! Now if the weather would just cooperate a little more...

Love this look and wish I can pull it off as effortlessly. Unfortunately, I'm short, so I always feel like I'm playing dress up in my mom's clothes when I wear a maxi.

agreed! the maxi dress is amazing and yes even something that simple and comfortable can look pulled together. I wish more people in pdx would try that instead of the droopy sweats.

  28. Everything starts to tickle inside, when I see summer things. I like that print, those shoes, the colors and bracelets. Now I can see in my little cloud, I'm buying bananas.

  29. i love this dress; it is voluminous and long and has a bold pattern, so definitely not a piece for everyone, but is fun and flirty and perfect for a saunter to the market.

in my town, the farmer's market is only sunday mornings, and i tend to through on a skirt and a white tee shirt, still reminiscing about whatever i did the evening before. thanks for the inspiration!
