I've been spending time the last few days searching for some spring installation ideas for a project I have up my sleeve, when I came across this stunning floral 'chandelier'...
It was part of the San Francisco Decorator's Showhouse back in 2009 - I had one of the images saved in my inspiration files, but did some digging and found out a little more...
The designer for the entryway, Nicole Hollis, commissioned artist Yedda Morrison to create this stunning centerpiece to the hall, setting the tone for an indoor/outdoor feel. The framed butterfly art adds perfectly to the botanical feel, and the natural linen drape does the same. Now I'm curious how hard this would be to pull off on a smaller scale for an intimate spring dinner... hmmmmm....

Wow! This is such a cool concept, and yet I was completely depressed by its ephemeral nature...until I realized that most, if not all of the plants were faux!
ReplyDeleteAn eternal statement arrangement that is also an art piece? Yes please!
Thanks for sharing...I feel a DIY coming on...
Oh, that is SO gorgeous! If I could have a decorators dream team to come create gorgeousness in my home....a girl can dream right? =) You would be on my dream team, LOVE your blog! Thinking about the hours it would take to create such a work of art....then the number of days it would last assuming it were real. Ugh! Faux seems like the better option considering the wonderful faux flowers on the market today.

You could grow something similar with a Wooly Pocket - then you could have the feng shui of live plants indoors and the glamor of the floral chandelier. They make vases too!
