TWINSIES

There's something just so sweet about the notion of pushing two antique beds together like this in a an attic guest room...

Perfect for the dreams of little girls + boys!

We have one very large bed that belonged to my grandmother at my parent's house... I can only imagine what type of room it would take to accommodate a second one that matched its scale, but I always loved climbing up into it when I was little - I felt like such a princess!

  4. Such a great photo. There actually was an old antique bed like this in my room growing up, that had belonged to my grandmother. I always felt so small and cozy in it!

  7. I, too, have a big ornate Victorian Era bed that I used to sleep in when I lived at home. However, it was a 3/4 size, which you cannot buy sheets for. But I still can't wait to build a house so I can get that bed back! (Mom promised I could have it.)

  8. Apart from being totally beautiful and stunning, this scene takes me back to long, sleepless nights when, in family reunions, all cousins stayed in the same room and spent all night awake, playing and chitchatting!

  9. You're so right about that!

I was born and raised in Brazil and you have NO idea how many gorgeous pieces of furniture you can find if you go to older people homes. I say that because nowadays people there love modern and clean furniture, but if you just take a look at my grandma's house for example you'd find amazing, heavy piece of furniture made of real and sturdy wood, just like these you've posted today. But the sad thing is, they aren't really appreciated there. Weird, eh?

I've posted before about Charlize Theron's house (that she's renting furnished btw) and she has gorgeous vintage beds in the guest bedrooms too.

Loving this post today. Good job!

  10. The bed on the right side is incredibly similar to the one I have in my son's room. It's a Fremch antique I scored for a song on Craigslist.
I love the boldness and ying-yang of using two of these contrasting beds in one room.
Perfect indeed for the boy and the girl.

This brings back the sweetest, most innocent memories of my childhood!Grammy letting all of us girls play in the pearl necklaces and jeweled rings/pins. Fresh out of the bath and in our nightgowns, we would slip on way too large stockings, powder up,and wrap ourselves in blankets of costume jewelry.....however,it was not long before we drifted off to dream land on our perfectly plush beds in that hideaway upstairs!
