BRIGHT (BEDROOM) IDEAS

I've been pondering these two little pieces of inspiration for guest bedrooms this week...

This lovingly painted door feels so special... if you could handle your halls being brightened up by such lovely whimsy, I think is would be a very sweet way to welcome guests to your home!

I've also been wondering if painting a ceiling in bright red, just for the soft pink glow it brings to the white walls, is crazy or genius. I'm not usually a fan of red in bedrooms, but in a guest room with tall ceilings an minimal decor...? I'm kinda digging it!

Could you, would you?

  1. I love the details of these photos you selected. The door is truly magical and whispering "hello, come in." And when you did, the red ceiling adds a story in this room. Amazing journey!

  8. It's interesting idea! for the red ceiling. I like the effect of soft glow pink during the day. I guess, it'll turn into dark red that will be quite soothing at night like a glass of red wine.

  9. Generally, I'm really not a fan of bright red in home design (just personal preference). But I actually quite like that red ceiling. The ceiling on its own is kind of "meh" to me, but it's that soft pink colour bounce onto the white walls that has won me over.

  11. A single pop of red kind of reminds me of a classic finishing touch like red lipstick to pull a look together. The ceiling is a huge statement but I do love that dreamy glow. I think it is pretty fabulous!

  14. I love the idea of the red ceiling. It really pops. I would probably go a watermelon red so its a little softer.

  15. Loving the painted door! I'm kinda a sucker for all things floral though :P

And I wouldn't have thought it, but I'm really liking the red ceiling. I do enjoy a good painted ceiling, but I never would have thought red...

  16. Love the red ceiling, Cassandra. The painted door is also beautiful, but would be difficult to paint, or at least very time consuming. Beautiful images.

  21. That first painted door is beautiful, you don't need much more in the room with a door that pretty. I for one, am not a fan of the red celiing..would never do it. I find it distracting and forget sleeping. I have a hard enough time as is...lol.

  28. LoVe this post !

The sweet painted door and cast pink color on the wall.

I believe you could get the same effect with a sheer red window treatment, just a thought...

  29. The painted door is really pretty, and would look amazing if the nearby walls were painted with great coordinating colors.
The painted ceiling is such a unique idea, which could add a lot of detail to a room which might not have a lot of space to work with.
    Great ideas!
