Not to mention fabulously frilled curtains and a lavish chandelier! My favorite parts of this space might be in those little details, actually. Like the gold accent and subtle tufting on the chairs. And that delicious grey trim! The only piece I might swap out is the table - perhaps in favor of something a little more modern to change the tone of the room?? But there is certainly a reason why rooms like this never lose their appeal - no matter how many times I may have seen it on other blogs, it always catches my eye. What do you think it is about this space and others like it that gives it that everlasting appeal?

What a great color scheme, I've never seen that:-)
ReplyDeleteI die for De Gournay wallpaper, but paired with orange it looks especially fresh!
ReplyDeletei love the tangerine-dreamy mismatched chairs -- will be appropriating that idea, i think -
ReplyDeleteVery nice. I'd swap out the carpet, I think it's a bit too commercial looking for this space and replace the chandelier with a larger(wider) one without the bright brass metal.
ReplyDeletethat wallpaper is beyoooond. xo
ReplyDeletethe tangerine chairs make my heart sing!
ReplyDeleteLoving the painted mouldings and the matching draperies!
ReplyDeleteCertainly the de Gournay wallpaper is timeless...interestingly, my daughter was just on their website today looking at one of the papers for her dining room. Thrilled to read this post!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous wall paper and colour contrasts but the chandelier looks a size or two too small somehow.....
ReplyDeletewhat do others think? is it just the angle of the picture?
You are right on the money with the table change....the room is ever so close but?......
I've never seen wallpaper quite like that before -- gorgeous!

It's original and timeless. Very interesting colors together. Amazing!
ReplyDeleteOhh I love that color palette: the mints, whites, tangerine and gray. So nice.
ReplyDeleteThe wall paper! Yes!
The chandelier and the flooring need a little more oomph though. But the colors of the room are so gorgeous!

well, if I had to choose I would choose the gorgeous and exquisite wallpaper and the chairs.
ReplyDeletejeannine, totally agree with you on the carpet as well - in one sense it's nice that it's subtle and lets the other areas pop, but at the same timeit seems to be lacking in personality.
ReplyDeleteconcrete jungle... i'm ALWAYS ready for a bigger chandelier!!

ReplyDeleteAll I can say is WOW! I love de Gournay wallcoverings........and as an interior designer, I would have never put the bright orange/tangerine with that paper and I love it! So inspiring....
Absolutely lovely colour combo!
ReplyDeleteFor me this room is perfection. No need for table swapping. The orange chairs are an inspired choice. And no room can go wrong if it has De Gournay wallpaper .
ReplyDeleteA classic beauty 4 sure!

I die for the wallpaper and orange velvet chairs- especially the high back ones. I definitely think the chandelier could be bigger and the carpeting a little more interesting but all in all, one of my favourite dining rooms ever. Stunning!
ReplyDeletethat wallpaper is so classic.
ReplyDeleteThis is the most gorgeous dining room!
ReplyDeleteI am soooooo in LoVe with this space... The colors are amazing together, and just perfect to me!!!!!!
