FASHION PROGRESSION?

Monday mornings I always wake up wishing I could slip on something just as comfy as Sunday's loungewear to head to work in...
ulla1
By Wednesday I start to feel a little less sloppy, so I layer some comfies over my classies...
ulla3
And friday? Well friday is date night, so it's time to step things up a little bit!
ulla2
... that is before I get home and throw back on those sweats.

What do we all think of this whole loungewear to workwear business anyway? I'm not sure I'm buying into it... reminds me an awful lot of velour tracksuit epidemic back in the day. Then again, this was my typical workwear when I used to work from home, so maybe fashion's just catching up to all us stylish bloggers?

  1. Not sure about the whole loungewear for workwear...I agree, reminds me of velour tracksuits! I have come to the conclusion I feel much more motivated when I actually dress up for work rather than taking the comfy approach.

    Happy Monday!

  2. I'm seriously loving everything about this collection. And I have a feeling I'd try to pull some of these looks off -- I mean, could those pants in the first two photos look any more comfortable? And yet they still have that stylish twist. Really innovative.

Not sure sweatpants should be worn out of the house! I do admit to changing into them the minute I step through the door however - there is nothing more comfy than lounge wear! xo

  6. I'm not sure how I feel about it, honestly... I want to like it. But I also know me. By Tuesday, I'll be wearing sweats and calling it 'fashionable'... sigh.

  7. Only a brave few can pull off sweats as office attire, I think :) I work in an opposite pattern - Monday I often am dressed up and get more casual through the week as I'm surviving on less and less sleep. I love the date outfit on the left though - so pretty!

  8. Not buying it for work... sweats are for lounging. Work is not lounging.

  9. I dont know how sure I am about those sweatpants tucked into boots... but I agree in the fact that it would be nice if there were some classic but comfy things to wear on those days when we're all tired!

  11. I think it looks very chic and I love it (you could also go for the sequin/silk option from J.Crew). That said, even though the models look great, I'm not sure I would be able to pull this off.. this might be a 5'7" and above thing.

Love the dresses too though, especially with the cute low boots!

Egads, NO WAY! This type of clothing is already a big problem in society, why would we chose to look sloppy and like we don't care? There is fashionable clothing that is comfortable. Don't give in, this is just as bad as guys with their pants half way down!

I think the sweats are cute, and are dressed up enough not to be sloppy. I would never get away with that in my office, but for brunch on a Sunday I think they are adorable!

  17. Hey guys, precious post, but. I have a rule when I get dressed to leave my house: Don't look into the mirror again (maybe in the powder room), glamourous, classy, elegant women do not worry all day long if they "dressed right" because if they need to look, they didn't. Good rule of thumb. xx's

  18. I love the idea of dressing up sweatpants, but definitely not something I would wear to work. I would only wear it to hang out with friends:) Thanks for the inspiration!

  19. No sweatpants. Not ever. I love everything else posted and feel it could pass for work attire in a creative or casual environment. However, comfortable + sloppy do not go hand-in-hand in the fashion world. There are so many better alternatives to sweats.

  21. Agreed, totally NOT into the sweats-for-work concept. Plus, it just PLAIN LOOKS BAD with heels/boots.
