COCKTAILS AT SIX: AUTUMN COFFEE (WITH A KICK!)

Fall has arrived in earnest, and although I miss though warm days of summer stretching into Fall, there is a certain je ne sais quoi about the combination of raindrops & falling leaves.

But those raindrops often bring along with them a damp chill that only something presented in a warm mug can dispel. More often than not, it’s a coffee 'with a little kick' that gains my undivided attention.

Coffee With A Kick:

3 tablespoons each brandy, Kahlúa, and crème de cacao
3 cups freshly brewed coffee (Stumptown is a personal favorite of mine)
4 tablespoons whipped cream

Divide brandy, Kahlúa, and crème de cacao between two mugs (this recipe is perfect for sharing!). Add half of coffee to each. Top with whipped cream if you like. Serves 2 in a matter of moments.

  1. My favorite coffee with a kick is what we called in Quebec, Brazilian Coffee. The alcohol part is cognac, Grand Marnier and Tia Maria. You flame the alcohol. It is my favorite after-dinner drink after a day of ski.

  2. This sounds FABULOUS. If it wasn't 80 degrees here in Florida right now, I would totally whip this up!

  4. A neighborhood bar and restaurant in my hometown serves these coffee drinks, and they are partially responsible for the loss of my girlish figure years ago!

  11. We're actually having cool weather here in L.A. with a little rain. This sounds heavenly. Reminds me of my snowy days in Boston on Newbury Street when we would walk into a bar during a snow storm and drink coffee drinks with whip cream to warm up. Love your images today. Beautiful.

  16. oh, no. you just made me realize how lazy I am. I use whatever is left in the coffee pot from the morning, dump in some almond milk and kahlua.
