Loving the garden roses on the left paired with the classic octagon pattern (and grey+white stripes!) on the right. Can I put them both in a room? Maybe just line them up together down the hallway? (I'm kidding people. I haven't gone senile quite yet...)

But seriously - have I lost it? Or is this not making you want to update the 'chateau' with fresh panels of colorful florals? Well, at least the guest room. Which is exactly what I'm doing for my old bedroom at my parent's house... You can expect a peek at it when it's all done! And lots more floral inspiration on the blog to come...
LOVE those two together!!
ReplyDeleteand i've been meaning to comment to you about BYU joining our WCC bball...what do we think!!
I bought the most amazing chintz drapes at the Paris flea market, in hopes that I will one day have a use for them. I say go with it because chintz can feel modern.
ReplyDeleteI say mix 'em up, sister! I mean, mixing patterns is the happening thing to do these days, right? And happy upcoming birthday! I'm heading toward 30 as well, and I'm feeling mighty fine about it -- hope you are, too. :)
ReplyDeleteI am all about multiple layers of all my favorite colors and patterns, and my favorite trick is placing an extra layer of wallpaper print on the ceiling.
ReplyDeleteLay it on thick or not at all.
Cheers!
I'm a sucker for prints like this, although I think you have to have just the right house/room to make it work.
ReplyDeleteI love, love all of these patterns. Go ahead and combine the florals with the octagons ... it'll look great :)!

I'm turning 30 in December and I have been all about florals lately! Must be an almost 30 thing... ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the octagon pattern with stripes!
ReplyDeleteLOVE! Have you checked out Isaac Mizrahi "Super Chintz" for S. Harris? It is a stunning floral chintz in vibrant and fun colors.
ReplyDeleteOoh, it seems I too have developed the same 'sudden love' as I adore these two prints together. Beautiful but still edgy!
ReplyDeleteNo, you haven't lost your mind - these are wonderful! I love the honeycomb pattern particularly. And the stripes plus floral? Marvelous.

I was so ready to disagree with your theory, but I'm inexplicably drawn to these too! Maybe I'll be cured by 40.

go for it! it's all about mixing and matching these days and if you pair chintz with a fun geometric or stripe, it will look totally "now". :)
ReplyDeleteI think that people go through phases when it comes to their taste in colours, textures, overall style. And if you are going through a floral phase simply enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteI'm all about the vintage floral- love these prints in just about everyroom, with a little modern geometric to balance it all out. Desinger's Guild prints are divine! As a bonus, ebay uk often has great deals on their fabrics.
ReplyDeleteI really like combining patterns...florals are really beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteps. I’m giving away a hand knit scarf, stop by and enter! Good luck!! :) http://antikamoda.blogspot.com/2010/10/giveaway-clio-hand-knit-scarf.html
Um, swoon. I love both. They remind me of an English parlour where ladies sip tea and always smell like roses!! Love! PS- I THINK I have selected an item from Clayton Gray from the giveaway... duck foot mirror! x
ReplyDeleteYesssssssss together together!! DG is amazeballs.
