I've worn glasses since high school and have always loved the idea of having a few pairs to switch out depending on my mood, but I've never been able to afford the luxury of indulging in multiple fashionable frames. So, when Zenni Optical approached me to see if I was interested in ordering a pair from them to review, I jumped at the chance!
I wanted to pick a style that I would normally shy away from, and since I already own an everyday pair, I thought I'd go for the current trend of the nerdy-style glasses...
After browsing through the many options, I narrowed things down to these three frames (which, by the way start at $9.95 - $29.95. Seriously.) I've tried on similar pairs before and love the thicker style frames, but was worried they would overwhelm my face a bit too much, so... I went with option #3!
As you can see, the boy joined in on the fun too. He selected this pair for his everyday glasses, and I think they're pretty damn cute on him! (And we're so excited, can't you tell? We had way too much fun practicing our model faces too.)
I was actually expecting my frames to be a bit more Talented Mr. Ripley-esque, but these still work as nice casual style alternative to the ones I already have. And at these prices, I'm seriously considering trying the other two anyway!
Ordering was a snap with our current prescriptions (just filled in the into online!), and the glasses arrived in just over a week. The frames are solid quality and lenses too - perfect for your everyday glasses or great for backups or a chance to try a more fun or quirky pair when you're feelin' it! (I have a feeling I'll be feelin' another pair again very soon!)

ReplyDeleteI love this post!I stumbled upon zenni a few months ago and ordered a pair of glasses for $12 total! I love them... I'd been wearing the same $300 pair for like 7 years because I loved the frames so much--I just kept getting the lenses updated. I can't wait to get another pair! they're so inexpensive! and quality!

What a fantastic idea! I love the idea of an alternative pair of glasses ... I only use mine for driving, reading, watching movies, etc. but it'd be nice to have more options. Thanks, and great review!

ReplyDeleteso great on you (both!) so funny - my brother-in-law sent me this link a couple years ago, and i have such a glasses collection now (i've needed glasses since the 4th grade, i am so blind!) i love their selection of plastic frames and the price, of course, is the best part.
