KEEPING IT COOL

We've had a little heatwave going on the last few days and it's making me crave this mix of cool colors and materials for my own home at the moment...

Timeless and modern at the same time, this color could easily be incorporated into a new space or an older home, and I love the way it works with cool carrara marble and raw walnut. The question is... will the appeal last all the way into our grey winter weather? Hmmmm...

  1. ur right - tough to have those colors if you not surrounded by BRIGHT beauty - cuz otherwise this could bring ya down with the 'blahness' of color .. great color combo tho! - i'd need to change it up a bit tho

  3. A serene colour palette like that always works but I agree, it would definitely need to be warmed up with a little color on those cloder, dreary days...

  5. Grey works really well in London as it reflects the atmosphere. Its also a great background colour for bright accessories that literally pop out. I once painted a big room in 'thundercloud' by sanderson which looked amazing. Unfortunately they have changed the formulae so its not quite the same but Papers and Paints does a similar colour. The greys produced by Farrow and Ball can look brilliant too.

  7. After living with cool grey walls last winter (from previous owners) I am in the process of explaining why we need to paint half our house a different (warmer) grey to my husband :)

Although I'm a lover of everything colorful & warm, sometimes cool shades feel closer to my heart and these pictures are amazing and so peaceful! xo

  9. Gorgeous colors! I've been craving grey a lot lately too. But I'm with you in thinking I may grow tired of it during the colder months.

Love how it soothes without feeling too dreary. You always find the best stuff!

P.S. May I be a bit nitpicky? I believe the marble is called "CarrAra" vs. "CarrEra". The marble comes from the Carrara province in Tuscany. The same kind Michelangelo used to make his David!

    Very nice place.....
This marble is one of the most expensive and best on this planet!

  15. These look too restaurant-y for my taste but you are so right about the "cool" factor.
