Rooms flushed in white require little details of warmth and personality or they're sure to feel to sterile and stark. This little bedside table does the trick perfectly! The linen pillows and pair of vintage lamps soften things up as well.

I love a good, unexpected window vignette! Instead of hiding the heaters behind curtains, this space makes the most of the graphic vents to stage a stunning area where the grand scale of the mirror and candlesticks draw the eye up and through to the view behind. Reflective surfaces add to the fresh light.

Little details = big impact, and so does thinking outside the box!

ReplyDeleteL-o-v-e the collage of gilded frames. What a brilliant idea---adore when what's old is new again!

I love the gilded frame collage, too. I've been wanting to do this forever but haven't gotten around to it. I actually want to do it on my large, brick fireplace but am nervous about drilling into it to hang them (it's really old!).
ReplyDeleteLOVE floating mirrors. we did it in my sister's bedroom in the house i grew up in to create a "vanity area" for her.
ReplyDeleteall excellent ideas! I especially love the grouped frames and the negative space some of them create.
ReplyDeleteI do like a mirror in front of a window, but I don't think I would have chosen that particular mirror. Just a wee bit harsh to my eyes.
i love the floating mirror idea.. its so chic!!
ReplyDeletewhat a great post. i think so many of us get caught up in the "rules" and forget to think outside the norm.
ReplyDeleteI'm crazy about the gilded frames, the whole round-up is inspirational! Some rules were made to be broken... :-)
