ROOM OF THE WEEK 7.15

Being a bit of a shorty, I've always love any room incorporating a library ladder. Being Italian, and the daughter of a restaurateur, I love kitchens. Needless to say...

This is really doing it for me. Old world charm detail, a pretty little balcony, unique lighting, great hardware, lots of storage, worn in wood and ... do I maybe even spy marble countertops on the right? (If not, they'll be getting installed pronto.) I don't even mind the narrow size, it's all so amazing. Whatever house this belongs to, I'll take it.

It is doing it for me too. Love it's entirety. Are those sliding cabinet doors? How cool if they are. Love a balcony like that as well. Great choice for inspiration, thanks for sharing Cassandra.

Hope you are having fabulous day.

I like that the warm honeyed wood makes the place just so cosy. And that old lamp immediately drew my attention, its like a handglown glass bubble enveloping the core! Beautiful.

That lamp is also definitely catching my attention!

I really want to put an old library ladder like this in my kitchen - I love this look (I'm also a shorty as well so it would be useful and not only pretty to look at)!

I can really imagine cooking and baking in this kitchen... or sipping coffee on the balcony. The whole place evokes such a good feeling!

Brilliant! A ladder would solve all of the problems I have with my 6 foot tall sister storing things out of my reach! ;)

This kitchen was featured in a great book released this year, "Restoring a House in the City," by Ingrid Abramovitch.

I think I'll be dreaming about this room for awhile! Love it, it's close to what I picture my kitchen like-just with a bit more space.

One word...LOVE! I have always been drawn to photos of libraries with ladders, come to think of it..I'm 5'1.5", maybe that has something to do with it??
PS. The 1/2 an inch really counts! Lol.

Even though it is narrow it still feels roomy because of the height. I really, really love this. Old world with modern lines pretty much sums up my taste :)

Oh yes please... that ladder... sigh...

The library ladder is ingenious and unique. I love the rustic look and the cool ladder makes it functional. Love it. Love it. Love it.
