Color Predictions from Style Court

Who better to assist in choosing the reigning color of 2009 than the woman who rules her own little piece of blogland - Ms. Courtney from Style Court herself! Immersed in interior design and its history, I thought she'd make a great addition to our little panel, so she dropped in to add her quick two cents on the subject...

While I try not to think about trends, I do like the interest in green we've seen recently. I hope lush emerald shades and jade hues will continue to be strong. I especially love Mary McDonald's work as seen in the latest issue of Domino.

Just like this space in Zooey Deschnel's home (also featured in the latest Domino), I think cobalt and royal blue will continue to be very big!

I also hope red continues to be dominant and I predict we will see more pale pink.

It sounds like the pink votes are definitely stacking up around here! I love the vote for red, since it's definitely a favorite for me at the moment as well. Thank you so much Courtney! One more blogger left for later this afternoon... stay tuned!

*just a little update luvies ~ courtney did a great little pink post after mentioning it as one of her favorite colors here... check it out!

The cobalt on the walls is beautiful. I also really dig the julep cup as a pencil cup. Very Southern.

Oh, I am sooo with you, this cobalt is so beautiful, and that green, so fresh.

Hello,

Love your blog Cassandra!!!
I did a quick post on colors this week too... I agree, I think kelly green, royal/sapphire blue, pink mixed with red and neutrals will be on top for 2009!!!

Best,
Julie

Zooey Deschnel's place is so much more sophisticated than I would have guessed.

Hi Cassandra and everyone!

I'm so flattered that you asked me to contribute. I adore red too, and it sounds like jewel tones plus pale pink are coming on strong.

Love what you did this week! Beautiful job.

Green seems to be very popular recently. Maybe its because we have become more green {as in earth friendly} over the past year. I love the green.

{ps I did a little color prediction of my own.}

Lovely lovely indeed! I just picked up my new copy of domino last night, and these pics are such a beautiful sneak peak. was going to save it for the weekend but my resolve is being tested for sure!

greens, especially, are really appealing to me lately. I love the transluscent quality of green glass---the way that light shines through it is breathtaking!
