Ok... so maybe more like the next 5 years (at least!), but I'm pretty damn sure that this is the couch for me!

NO, it will not be that color (not that's it's bad, but it's not what I want). And the pillows will have different tufting. And perhaps a bench seat instead of two cushions. But that's pretty much it.
What's crazy is that it's the perfect blend of the sofas we have at Empiric that I love. The Florence is my favorite for the design and the tufting...

And the curve of the arms on the Edward is such a cool detail...

And the Audrey is super comfy with a really deep seat and slightly angled back (hard to tell from the photo, but TRUST me on this one).

Put them all together, and what do you get? My dream couch!! Only one little problem... it's in the UK. OF COURSE. The sofa is called (I love this) the "Fancy Nancy" and it's by Sofa Workshop. Totally random, I know. So, I guess I'm just going to have to build it myself...
As a total aside, Sofa Workshop has some other cool designs I dig too... check 'em out.

Not a huge fan of the pillows on there, but wouldn't this look fancy in a bedroom? I love how low it is - it gives it a great chaise lounge quality.

This sofa is crazy - like taking your grandmother's sitting room furniture, reupholstering it in a bold pattern, painting the legs pink, crazy. It's got an Anthropologie-esque look to it, wouldn't you say?

And for those who just like to keep it simple... I think the skinny skinny legs on this are very cool - the sofa looks like it's floating there. And I really like the fabric, actually. It has great visual texture.
So... will I get my dream sofa or not? Stay tuned and I guess we'll find out!
Great couches! I love, love, love the pink one. Perhaps once Waldo is old enough Elon and I can get a real "adult" couch. Great finds, can't wait to see what you decide on!
ReplyDeleteIsn't so hard to find the perfect sofa!! Great pick can't wait to see what it turns out like!

YOu hit the jackpot of couches. I want one of each. I must admit, I love the pink.
ReplyDeleteI think I'm in heaven--I have been stalking the perfect couch for my family room (now a pile of rubble but fingers crossed for a March movein date...) Do you know what the quality on those couches by Empiric is like? I think the Edward may finally be "my" couch...
ReplyDeletemcs1111 - the Empiric couches are wonderful - and yes, I'm biased because I also happen to work there. if you're in LA, come by and we'll hook you up! the edward is beautiful - a really low back though, which is the only reason i didnt pick it as my dream couch :)
ReplyDeletethanks everyone else for your comments! i'm so excited to see if i can get my own sofa made according to this design... cross your fingers!!
Oooh, couch love! I happen to love that shade of pink.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite of the bunch is the Grand Old Gent sofa (5th from the top). There's a great big empty space in my office and I think that sofa would be perfect in it!
i KNOW, the more i look at the 'grand old gent' the more i love it. if i had the right space for it i'd snatch it up right quick! i never thought of it in an office, but what a great idea!!
ReplyDeleteya know? i posted about Fancy Nancy a while ago being the "it" for me... and someone wrote and said that she had one and was disappointed with it after 2 months or so... sags and the fabric isn't tight anymore.
ReplyDeleteStill LOVE the shape though! And adore the colour too!
no WAY, drey! how did i miss that post? i suppose i've only been sofa obsessed for the last month or so... sounds like it's a good think i won't be ordering it from the UK. i think i'm going to create a design based off of this one for myself :)
ReplyDeleteLove them all! I love your new couch too, it is just what I am looking for. I love the clean classic style and the tufted back is just so ooh la la! Great choice and great collection of awesome couches!
